Kwesi Pratt Jr., the managing editor of the publication Insight, did not appear to be pleased with former President John Mahama’s choice to refer to President Nana Akufo-Addo as Jack Toronto.
Given that he is well-known for that moniker, the seasoned journalist claims he cannot understand why Mr. Mahama is referring to Akufo-Addo by that term.
“Since it is common knowledge that I go by Jack Toronto, why was it given to President Akufo-Addo by former President Mahama without my consent? He just took it away. Why? Does he not have permission or copyright? He asked about Peace FM, which is situated in Accra.
Following its adoption by the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at a town hall meeting in Tamale, Jack Toronto has become popular in recent days.
Mr. Mahama reaffirmed emphatically that the NPP, which is now in power, has mismanaged the affairs of the nation and has to be removed from power.
Regarding the country’s economic situation, Mr. Mahama emphasized that each member of the Akufo-Addo administration must be held responsible.
Under his direction, he declared, that all public servants will be held responsible for their deeds and inactions.
In response to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the NPP, asking Ghanaians to elect him president to give him the authority to enact policies that will advance the nation, Mr. Mahama made a statement.
In a speech to the public on Wednesday, February 7, the vice president outlined his goals for the nation and stated that he had learned lessons from the seven years of the Akufo-Addo administration.
