Sinead OConnor undergoes drastic makeover for new album cover

Image, both personal and public. While her shaved head was initially intended to challenge traditional notions of women, O’Connor later stated that she had began to grow her hair back, but that after being questioned whether she was Enya, she shaved it off again. “I don’t feel like myself unless I shave my head.”

Sinéad O’Connor earned international notoriety when she was 23 with her performance of Prince’s song “Nothing Compares 2 U.” She quickly rose to fame as a Grammy Award-winning singer noted for her vocals as well as her looks (particularly her shaved hair) and onstage antics.

The singer explains why she shaves her head.

“When we were kids, my sister had gorgeous red hair, lovely red hair.” “That’s why I’d be envious of her,” O’Connor explains. “However, my mother decided that my sister’s hair was ugly, awful, and repulsive. And mother started introducing us as her gorgeous daughter and her ugly daughter when I had long hair. That’s why I shaved my head. I didn’t want to be attractive.”

On Tuesday’s episode, O’Connor discusses her childhood, claiming that she was abused on a daily basis by her mother. She also reveals that she was raped numerous times as a child.
