Why does Dave Courtney refer to himself an OBE?
The late Dave Courtney was an English self-proclaimed gangster who became both an author and an actor. He was accused by Author Bernard O’Mahoney and Frankie Fraser, a former member of the Richardson Gang of embellishing and fabricating his criminal record and position in the underworld; however, Courtney denied overstating his past.
As previously stated, he often refers to himself as OBE, the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire – a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, working with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service. Just as we all know, he does not have one.
