Janice Irwin, the coach of the girls’ tennis team at neighboring Upper St. Clair High School, mentored Riske in her early career.
She then began working alongside her sister Sarah for Yves Boulais, the spouse of former professional Patricia Hy-Boulais. She spent time practicing at the USTA training center in Boca Raton, Florida, and the Van der Meer Tennis Academy in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
She is currently on of the best in her field.
Why does Alison Riske not ready to have children?
She doesn’t plan to have any soon. Riske, who married Stephen Amritraj last year, told India’s top newspaper, The Times of India, “My biggest aim or what brings me the most happiness from tennis is to go out there for every match and no matter what my level that day is, I’m able to try to find a way, to squeak out the match.”
“I don’t see me pausing to have a child and then returning. Stephen and I really spoke about it a little bit; we were working together to bring my profession to the point where I felt content and ready to have a family.”
Sarah, her sister, is a tennis player who played for Vanderbilt University and had a brief professional career, peaking to No. 372. Dan, her brother, was a West Liberty State University tennis player who is now an accountant.
