A fictional character in the epic fantasy book series A Song of Ice and Fire, Lord Tyrion Lannister is also known as the Halfman, the Imp, and by the alias Hugor Hill and Fire by American author George R. R. Martin and American actor Peter Dinklage plays him in the television series Game of Thrones.
Tyrion, a pivotal point-of-view character in the series and the one with the most chapters in the first five novels to be released had his acting debut in A Game of Thrones (1996). He is one of only a few well-known individuals that appeared in A Dance with Dragons (2011) but not in A Feast for Crows (2005).
The sixth book, The Winds of Winter, is also anticipated to include him. Martin conceived the character of Tyrion while writing Windhaven in 1981. He is the character on the program who Martin thinks to be the most endearing.
Tyrion has inherited his father’s love of political and commercial intrigue and is intelligent, humorous, and well-read. As “Martin’s Falstaff,” the figure was described by Grossman as “a bitter, cynical, high-born dwarf.”
