The late rapper Big L’s family previously disclosed that a street near 140th Street and Lenox Avenue would be dedicated in his honor.
Remy Ma is now among the notable people in their community to receive a street sign in their honor.
Remy Ma has consistently represented the Bronx since she was discovered by the late rap great Big Pun in the late ’90s, whether it be as one of the borough’s biggest rap stars or through her attempts to give back to her neighborhood.
The “Conceited” rapper was given a street sign as part of the Bronx Walk of Fame on Saturday, highlighting Remy’s accomplishments in her home neighborhood (May 14).
Remy Ma documented the installation of the street sign on the Bronx Walk of Fame on Instagram. Fat Joe, Eif Rivera, and others surrounded Remy.
She went on to say that she had come a long way since she was a young girl growing up in the Bronx.
“I’ve had to go to court across the street from where that sign is, I’ve lived in a shelter down the block from where that sign is, I’ve went to high school a few lights up from where that sign is; I debuted one of the biggest songs of my career is the stadium behind where that sign is… I appreciate & am so thankful for where I am, I wouldn’t change a thing about where I’ve come from, and I’m excited to see where I’m going.”
