Claire Holt is most known for her role in the Vampire Diaries spinoff series ‘The Originals,’ in which she plays Original Vampire Rebekah Mikaelson. After season one, the actress abruptly left The Originals.
Claire Holt’s portrayal of Rebekah Mikaelson will be remembered fondly by everyone.
Not because she is the sassiest vampire we know, but because Rebekah understands how to put both humans and immortals in their place when necessary.
Rebekah Mikaelson, the lone female sibling in the Mikaelson clan, soon became a fan favorite after making her debut on The Vampire Diaries, The Original’s parent series, in 2007.
Why did Rebekah leave The Originals?
The actress left The CW series with her final episode in March 2011. Claire Holt’s finale scene in “Farwell to Storyville” saw her leaving New Orleans. But her sudden departure surprised the fans. To this, The Originals star addressed her character’s unexpected departure from the show. She said “I want to be very clear that they didn’t run out of material, I wasn’t pushed out, I wasn’t fed up with Rebekah. I didn’t quit mid-season, there was no drama, there was no rift between cast members: it really came down to the fact that I completed my initial commitment and made a life choice, not a career choice.”
