Why did Misha Collins change his name?

Misha isn’t Collins’ real name, and he was named after his mother’s ex-boyfriend. Dmitri Tippens Krushnic is Collins’ real name.

His mother had a lover named Dmitri, whom his friends referred to as Mischa, while she was studying in Russia.

He grew up on the streets. When his mother couldn’t afford to put a roof over their heads, they would sit in the woods.

Collins stated in a New York Times parenting essay, “When my family lived in a tent in the woods, we utilized an old galvanized tub filled with chilly water as our refrigerator.”

Victoria Vantoch is the wife of Dmitri Misha Collins, an American actor best known for his portrayal of the angel Castiel on the CW television series Supernatural.

On October 6, 2001, the pair married in Maine.
