Kurtis Eugene Warner, an American former quarterback who spent most of his time with the Arizona Cardinals and St. Louis Rams in the National Football League (NFL), was born on June 22, 1971.
One of the greatest Cinderella stories in NFL history, his career saw him go from undrafted free agent to two-time Most Valuable Player and Super Bowl MVP.
Why did Kurt Warner retire?
Five years after the birth of his two youngest children, Warner retired in 2010. Warner stated to ESPN that he will “watch his children grow up, do some preaching, and possibly get into football broadcasting” after his retirement.
For the 2011 Arena Football League season, Warner joined the Iowa Barnstormers broadcast team. He was admitted to the Arena Football Hall of Fame in May 2010. Additionally, he is a hall of fame inductee for the Iowa Barnstormers.
2014 saw Warner become a member of the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame.
