There is no denying that Frank Ocean is one of our generation’s greatest minds. We were all in his gripping hands as we waited for Boys Don’t Cry. Ocean’s visual album Endless was published on Friday, and he is rumored to be releasing the album formerly known as Boys Don’t Cry the following weekend.
The man we call Ocean, though, was not always so eponymous. The mysterious Frank Ocean changed his name. Yet why? The feeling of empowerment within oneself is the solution.
Why did Frank Ocean change his name?

According to Vibe, the artist formerly known as Breaux received his wish and transformed it into his final form, Christopher Francis Ocean, over a year later, in April 2015. Some driver’s license concerns, according to reports, were the cause of the year-long delay. Leave it to the DMV to stifle a dreamer’s imagination
