Born October 21, 1995, Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, proficiently known as Doja Cat is an American singer, rapper, lyricist, and record maker from Los Angeles.
Kemosabe and RCA Records, signed her on a joint record deal at the age of 17, in 2014, after releasing her song “So High”. She also subsequently released her debut EP album Purrr! In the same year.
Doja Cat quits music, after going toe-to-toe with a Twitter mob over a canceled concert in Paraguay. That concert was canceled due to a deadly storm and flooding.
She went to Twitter after playing Lollapalooza in Brazil to apologize for not putting on “a good enough show,” and promised to do better the following night. Her fans in Paraguay got hurt because she never tweeted them over missing a festival show there earlier in the week.
Doja however, responded that she was not sorry and that exploded the Twitter war with journalists and fans in Paraguay. She also added that she has moved on and going to let everybody be mad. After those posts, she changed her witter handle to “I quit.”
Doja also tweeted that, “I can’t wait to f***ing disappear and I don’t need you to believe in me anymore.” She added, “I’m a f***ing fool for ever thinking I was made for this, this is a f***ing nightmare. Unfollow me.”
She then topped it off by declaring, “This s*** ain’t for me so I’m out. Y’all take care.”
