Born on April 24, 1942, Barbara Joan “Barbra” Streisand is an American singer, actor, and filmmaker.
She has had a successful career spanning more than six decades in the entertainment industry and is one of the few performers to have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony (EGOT).
In 1973, she began dating hairstylist/producer Jon Peters. Later, he served as her manager and producer. They split up in 1982 while filming Yentl, yet they are still close. His daughters Caleigh and Skye Peters have her as their godmother.
The Baskin-Robbins heir Richard Baskin, who composed the lyrics to “Here We Are At Last” on her 1984 album Emotion, lived with Streisand from November 1983 until October 1987.
From December 1987 to at least September 1988, she was dating actor Don Johnson. “Till I Loved You” was recorded as a duet by the two.
Why did Barbra Streisand stop performing?
Despite her legendary career, Streisand acknowledged that she still finds it difficult to perform despite having a 27-year break from it due to stage anxiety.
She advises herself to “Let go and let god” relax before a performance.
Streisand also talked openly about the moment she asked Apple’s Tim Cook to modify the way Siri pronounces her name.
