Dahmer was discovered on the floor of the prison gym bathroom on November 28, 1994, with serious head injuries. Christopher Scarver beat both Dahmer and Anderson with a metal bar when he and fellow prisoners Jesse Anderson and Christopher Scarver were unattended during a cleaning detail.
Anderson and Dahmer were both found alive, but they later passed away from their wounds. Later, Scarver told a prison officer that it was not planned but rather that “God told me to do it.”
Since Dahmer and Anderson were white and had also victimized Black men, some people speculate that the killings may have genuinely been racially motivated. However, this was never proven.
