Whoever says Prosper Ogum is not a good coach is a liar – Emmanuel Gyamfi

Former Asante Kotoko captain, Emmanuel Gyamfi, has thrown his support behind his former boss Prosper Narteh Ogum, despite the coach facing mounting pressure from fans and management.

Ogum, who guided the team to a league title in his first season, has struggled to find success this year with only one victory in 2024 and six losses in the last seven league matches.

Tensions came to a head on Tuesday, April 16, when fans interrupted the team’s training session to demand Ogum’s removal. However, Gyamfi remains confident in the coach’s abilities.

In an interview with Ghanasportspage.com, Gyamfi defended Ogum, stating, “Whoever says the coach isn’t good is a liar. I’ve worked with him before and I know how he likes his team to play. His performance was appealing to the football world, which is why people wanted him back at Kotoko.”

Despite the challenges facing Asante Kotoko, Gyamfi believes that Ogum has what it takes to turn the team’s fortunes around. With his experience and coaching style, Gyamfi is hopeful that Ogum can lead the team to success once again.
