Beloved American actress Shannen Doherty, best known for her role as Brenda Walsh in Beverly Hills, 90210, sadly passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024.
Doherty, born in Memphis, Tennessee on April 12, 1971, began her career as a child actress and rose to fame with her role in the hit film Heathers in 1988.
Throughout her successful career, Doherty appeared in various TV shows and films, including Charmed, The Rendering, and North Shore. She was married three times, with her last marriage to Kurt Iswarienko ending in 2023.
Tragically, Doherty’s life was cut short due to her long battle with cancer. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, the disease later spread to her lymph nodes.
Despite undergoing treatment and achieving remission in 2017, Doherty revealed the cancer had returned in 2019 and had reached stage four. In January 2023, she underwent surgery to have a brain tumor removed.
Despite her illness, Doherty remained hopeful and determined to continue living, loving, and creating.
She courageously shared her journey with the public and expressed her desire to make a positive impact on the world. Throughout her battle, Doherty chose not to have children due to the risks associated with her illness and treatment.
