Who was serial killer Joshua Wade and what happened to him?

Joshua Wade, the infamous serial killer from Alaska, has met his end in prison. Serving a 99-year sentence for the 2007 carjacking and murder of his neighbor Mindy Schloss, Wade confessed to a total of five murders throughout his criminal career.

On June 14, 2024, Wade was found unresponsive in his cell at an Indiana prison. Despite attempts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at the age of 44. An autopsy is currently underway to determine the cause of death.

Wade’s murderous spree began at the young age of 14 when he killed his first victim, 38-year-old John Michael Martin. He went on to confess to the murders of Henry Ongtowasruk in 1999, Della Brown in 2000, and Mindy Schloss in 2007. Additionally, Wade claimed to have taken the lives of two more individuals on separate occasions.

Although he was acquitted of some charges, Wade’s reign of terror left a trail of devastation in Alaska. The victims, ranging from nurses to neighbors, all fell prey to his violent acts of cruelty.

The death of Joshua Wade marks the end of a dark chapter in Alaska’s history. His heinous crimes and eventual demise serve as a chilling reminder of the dangers posed by individuals capable of such brutality.
