Sir Ahmed Salman Rushdie CH FRSL (born 19 June 1947) is a British-American novelist of Indian origin. His work frequently combines magical realism with historical fiction and focuses on the Indian subcontinent’s connections, disruptions, and migrations between Eastern and Western civilizations.
As an advertising copywriter, Salman Rushdie came up with the words “irresistible” for Aero and “Naughty but Nice” for cream cakes. He wrote Midnight’s Children before becoming a full-time writer. Collaborated with musician Ronnie Bond on the song for Burnley Building Society record.
