The case of Viktoria Nasyrova and her attempted murder and identity theft has shocked many. Olga Tsvyk, a Ukrainian beautician living in Queens, New York, found herself fighting for her life after being poisoned with a tainted piece of cheesecake by Nasyrova, who was reportedly trying to steal her identity.

48 Hours is set to explore Olga Tsvyk’s harrowing ordeal in an episode titled The Case of the Poison Cheesecake, airing exclusively on CBS and Paramount+ on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 9 pm ET.

Olga Tsvyk, a skilled beautician, was roped into helping Nasyrova with an eyelash repair emergency before falling victim to her former friend and client’s deadly plan. The poisoning left Olga unconscious and in intensive care for three days, with personal items missing and a staged suicide scene.

Nasyrova, known for her past crimes of petty theft, was eventually apprehended thanks to Tsvyk’s container of cheesecake crumbs laced with a potent sedative. In her possession were stolen items, including Tsvyk’s passport, identification card, and employment authorization card, suggesting an attempt at identity theft.

Convicted of attempted murder, assault, and other charges, Nasyrova was sentenced to 21 years in prison with the possibility of deportation back to Russia upon release. Despite maintaining her innocence, evidence and witness testimony point towards her guilt in the heinous crime.
