Hulu’s latest docuseries, Me Hereafter, is set to delve into the tragic case of Kira Steger, a 30-year-old woman from Minnesota whose disappearance and murder shocked the nation.

Kira Steger, a beloved store clerk at the Mall of America in Bloomington, was married to Jeffery Trevino for three years. Her customers and co-workers described her as a kind and loving individual.

On February 13, 2013, Kira finished her shift and went to dinner with her husband at the mall. However, when she failed to show up for work two days later, a co-worker raised the alarm. Police discovered blood in Kira’s car parked at the mall, and months later, her body was tragically found in the nearby Mississippi River.

Jeffery Trevino quickly became the prime suspect in Kira’s murder, especially after it was revealed that she was in a relationship with one of her store’s district managers. Authorities alleged that Trevino attacked Kira in a fit of jealousy after discovering her infidelity, leading to her death.

In November 2013, Jeffery Trevino was found guilty of second-degree murder and sentenced to 27.5 years in prison. He is currently serving his sentence at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Faribault, with a potential release date of June 26, 2031.

The upcoming episode of Me Hereafter promises to uncover the twists and turns of Kira Steger’s case, shedding light on the tragic events that led to her untimely death.
