She was primarily recognized as a keyboardist and singer for the band Fleetwood Mac, which she joined in 1970. Three solo albums were also released by her. While on tour, Fleetwood Mac frequently played together with the blues group Chicken Shack at the same places. On one of these occasions, McVie met Christine Perfect, the main vocalist and pianist for Chicken Shack, who would later become his wife. After allegedly only two weeks of dating, McVie and Perfect were married, with Peter Green serving as the best man. Being constantly on the road with their bands prevented the pair from spending much time together, so Christine (now McVie) left Chicken Shack to settle down and be a homemaker. However, once Peter Green left Fleetwood Mac in 1970, McVie was able to convince Christine to join the band.
