Veteran actor Dabney Coleman had a prolific career in Hollywood, starring in numerous films and television shows over the years. Born on January 3, 1932, in Austin, Texas, Coleman was known for his roles in popular movies such as 9 to 5, Tootsie, WarGames, and You’ve Got Mail.

Throughout his career, Coleman often portrayed smarmy, selfish characters who were out for their own interests, earning him a reputation as a talented character actor. His roles in TV shows like Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, Buffalo Bill, and Boardwalk Empire also showcased his versatility as an actor.

Tragically, Coleman passed away on May 17, 2024, at the age of 92. His death was confirmed by family friend Alison Martino, who described him as a kind and gentle soul despite often playing villainous roles on screen. Coleman had been ill prior to his passing, leading to the cancellation of a scheduled appearance at an autograph show in New Jersey in April 2024.

Coleman was married to actress Jean Hale from 1961 to 1984. Hale, who was known for her roles in films like The Oscar and In Like Flint, passed away in August 2021 at the age of 82. The couple had four children together.

Before his marriage to Hale, Coleman was briefly married to Ann Courtney Harrell from 1957 to 1959. At the time of his death, Coleman was not married, leaving behind a rich legacy in the entertainment industry.
