Guber married Barbara Walters, an NBC reporter at the time, in December 1963, beginning a 13-year marriage.

Their daughter, Jacqueline Dena Guber, was born in 1968 and adopted by the couple the following year.

Who was Barbara Walters’ second husband Lee Guber?

Lee Guber was an American theater impresario who created a chain of entertainment venues in suburban areas along the East Coast and produced several Broadway productions. Guber was born on November 20, 1920, in Philadelphia. Guber went to Central High School, where he met his future business partner Shelly Gross when they were assigned to sit in alphabetical order next to each other.

What happened to him?

Guber died on March 27, 1988, at the age of 67  at home. Guber died of brain cancer.

 

Guber, Ford, and Gross Productions planned to resurrect the popular 1950s and 1960s TV series Dialing for Dollars, with Canadian television personality Peter Emmerson set to host, but Lee Guber’s terminal brain cancer diagnosis in 1987 put those plans on hold.
