After getting nominated for the position of Associate Justice of the US Supreme Court by President Joe Biden, Ketanji Brown Jackson was confirmed by the US Senate on April 7, 2022.

A former Vice-Chair of the United States Sentencing Commission, Jackson has over 10 years of expertise as an attorney.

Who voted against Ketanji Brown Jackson Supreme Court?

Jackson was confirmed on Thursday, April 7, 2022, by the US Senate on her nomination to sit on the Supreme Court.

The confirmation was carried out in a vote of 53-47 by the Senate.

During the vote, all 50 Republicans voted in favor (yes) of Jackson’s confirmation.

Out of the 50 Democrats, 47 voted against (no) her while the remaining three namely Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, and Mitt Romney of Utah voted in favor (yes) of her confirmation.

In all, 53 Senators were in favor of Jackson’s confirmation to sit on the Supreme Court while 47 of them were against her confirmation.

This makes Jackson the first black woman to be confirmed to the high bench in the history of the United States of America.
