Wayne Shorter is an American jazz saxophonist and composer who played jazz music. As a member of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers and subsequently its lead composer, Shorter rose to fame in the late 1950s. He first played in Miles Davis’ Second Great Quintet in the 1960s before co-founding Weather Report, a jazz fusion outfit. He led a band that made almost 20 records.
His music has received recognition from all around the world as well as appreciation from critics and has several pieces that have evolved into jazz standards. The 12-time Grammy winner Shorter.
