Troy Aikman is a former National Football League player who represented the United States in professional football (NFL). For the Dallas Cowboys, he was a quarterback. In the 1989 NFL Draft, Aikman was chosen with the first overall pick. As the starting quarterback for the Cowboys for 12 straight seasons, he owns the record for the most seasons played by a quarterback.
He was the Super Bowl XXVII MVP and assisted the squad in winning three championships. He has also been chosen for the Pro Bowl six times. The Pro Football Hall of Fame inducted Aikman in 2006. He was then honored by being inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in New York City on December 9, 2008.
