The Smashing Pumpkins, an iconic American rock band that rose to fame in the early 1990s, has announced a brand-new guitarist for their upcoming 2024 tour.
Kiki Wong, a Los Angeles-based musician who previously played with the band Vigil of War and even performed with Taylor Swift, has been chosen to join the legendary group.
After a public call for auditions earlier in the year, Kiki was revealed as the newest member of the Smashing Pumpkins in April. Overwhelmed with gratitude, Kiki took to Instagram to express her excitement, stating, “It goes to show hard work and perseverance truly pays off if you’re willing to push through the tough stuff, so never lose hope out there.”
Lead singer Billy Corgan also shared his enthusiasm for the addition of Kiki to the band, praising her musical abilities and expressing his excitement to hit the road with her. The Smashing Pumpkins are set to embark on a European tour starting on June 7 in the UK, with stops in various countries before heading to North America in July.
