Stefanos Tsitsipas (born August 12, 1998) is a Greek tennis player. The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) has ranked him as high as world No. 3, which he first achieved on August 9, 2021, making him the highest-ranked Greek player in history, alongside Maria Sakkari.
Tsitsipas won the 2019 ATP Finals, making him the year’s youngest winner in the previous eighteen years. He has nine ATP singles titles (including two Masters 1000 titles) and reached the 2021 French Open final, where he lost to Novak Djokovic after leading by two sets to love. He has also reached the Australian Open semifinals three times.
Born into a tennis family – his mother Julia Apostoli was a professional in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA)
Tsitsipas has been coached by his father Apostolos since he was a child, but photos have emerged of the Greek on the court with Enqvist, who finished runner-up at the 1999 Australian Open and reached a career-high of No 4 in the ATP Rankings.
