Stefanos Tsitsipas (born August 12, 1998) is a Greek tennis player. The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) has ranked him as high as world No. 3, which he first achieved on August 9, 2021, making him the highest-ranked Greek player in history, alongside Maria Sakkari. Tsitsipas won the 2019 ATP Finals, making him the year’s youngest winner in the previous eighteen years. He has nine ATP singles titles (including two Masters 1000 titles) and reached the 2021 French Open final, where he lost to Novak Djokovic after leading by two sets to love. He has also reached the Australian Open semifinals three times.
Tsitsipas was born into a tennis family; his mother, Julia Apostoli, was a professional on the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) tour, and his father was a tennis coach.
