Stefan Weichert is a freelance writer from Denmark who has been based in Kyiv, Ukraine since May 2019.
He specializes on war, violence, and terrorism. He has covered protests in Egypt, Belarus, and the current conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The journalist was in the news when he met Putin Troops in the Northern region of Russia.
According to The Daily Beast, the 2 of it’s reporters covering the invasion in Ukraine were shot while on the ground in the country’s northeast.
One of such victims was 31-year-old Stefan
Stefan Weichert and his colleague Emil Filtenborg were both injured by gunfire.
Weichert received a shoulder wound whiles his colleague suffered numerous wounds, including one in his right leg.
The event occurred as the two reporters were travelling towards Okhtyrka, a town in northeast Russia.
Luckily the duo were able to drive to a hospital despite bleeding profusely.
Stefan has received heartfelt messages from lots of people across the world.
