Shane Lowry, born on April 2, 1987, is an Irish professional golfer who competes on the European Tour and the PGA Tour. He has won the 2019 Open Championship, the Irish Open as an amateur in 2009, and the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in 2015.
Lowry was raised in Clara, County Offaly. He is the son of Brendan Lowry, who led Offaly to the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final in 1982. He won the Irish Amateur Close Championship in 2007, defeating Niall Turner in the final 4 and 3.
