Former beauty pageant queen, Skylene Montgomery, is now married to NFL coach Sean Payton. The star coach has had an illustrious career working with renowned teams such as the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys. However, his wife is no stranger to the world of sports.
Sean Payton, 60, is a former quarterback turned successful coach. He is currently the head coach for the Denver Broncos, but he made a name for himself during his 15-year tenure as the head coach of the New Orleans Saints. When Payton first started coaching the Saints, they were ranked as the second worst team in the league. He was able to turn their fortunes around and led them to their first playoff appearance in six years.
During his time with the New Orleans team, Payton secured their first victory in a Super Bowl in 2009 and helped them achieve nine postseason wins. His overall record of 161-97 made him the most successful coach in the history of the team. Payton briefly retired from coaching in 2021 but made a comeback a year later with a new franchise, the Denver Broncos.
In June 2021, Sean Payton tied the knot with Skylene Montgomery in a private ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The couple first met at an NFL game in 2014 and got engaged in 2019 after five years of dating. Skylene, a native of West Virginia, holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology and an advanced nursing degree. She was also a beauty pageant queen, winning the title of Miss West Virginia in 2007 and representing her state at the Miss USA contest in 2008.
Prior to marrying Skylene, Sean Payton was married to Beth Shuey for 22 years before their split in 2014. The former couple has two children together, a daughter named Meghan and a son named Connor. Beth Shuey has since moved on and married Jamie McGuire in 2020.
Sean Payton and Skylene Montgomery’s journey together showcases their commitment to each other both on and off the field, as they navigate life’s different chapters with resilience and love.
