Danny Wilson is a Welsh former rugby union and professional rugby league footballer. He was born on November 4, 1955, in wales to a Welsh mother and a Sierra Leonean father.
Danny played rugby in the 1970s and 1980s. As a Wales representative stand-off, he played his club rugby for Widnes, Barrow, Swinton, Runcorn Highfield, and Springfield Borough. He played rugby union for Cardiff RFC as a fly-half before moving north to play professionally in rugby league.
Wilson once scored five drop goals in a match for Swinton and won five caps for Wales while at Swinton, in 1981–82 and 1984.
Wilson coached the Wales U20s team in the 2012 Junior World Championship where the Welsh side defeated the Baby Blacks 9-6 in the group stage.
