Veronica Yvette Greenfield, popularly known by her stage name Ronnie Spector was born on August 10, 1943, in East Harlem, New York City, and died on January 12, 2022, in Danbury, Connecticut at the age of 78.

She co-founded and led the super-successful girl group The Ronettes.

She married Jonathan Greenfield in 1982 after her messy divorce with Phil Spector. Greenfield was then working as her manager before they tied the know and had two sons.

She released her first solo album, Siren, in 1980. Her appearance on Eddie Money’s Take Me Home Tonight in 1986 helped launch her career as a solo artist.

Her subsequent albums include English Heart, Last of the Rock Stars, Something’s Gonna Happen, and Unfinished Business.

The autobiography Be My Baby: How I Survived Mascara, Miniskirts, and Madness by Ronnie Spector was released in 1990.

The Ronettes were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.
