A former Australian rules football player, coach, and media personality by the name of Ronald Dale Barassi Jr. On February 27, 1936, he was born in Castlemaine, a town in the heart of Victoriana. When Barassi was just five years old, his Melbourne Football Club player father was killed in action at Tobruk during World War II.
