Romy Mars, the 17-year-old daughter of renowned film director Sofia Coppola and French musician Thomas Mars, is stepping into the spotlight with the release of her debut EP in May 2024.
Born in Paris, France, on November 28, 2006, Romy had largely stayed out of the public eye, making occasional appearances with her mother, who is known for her Oscar-winning films such as Lost in Translation and The Beguiled.
Romy made her red carpet debut at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in May 2024, alongside her grandfather, legendary director Francis Ford Coppola.
Romy’s debut EP, titled Stuck Up, was released on May 22, 2024, and features two songs – Stuck Up and From a Distance. Produced by Practice Records, the EP showcases Romy’s talent and musical style. “Stuck Up” narrates a summer fling turned sour with a catchy guitar tune, while “From a Distance” is described as a whimsical bop with bedroom pop vibes.
Sofia Coppola, Romy’s mother, has had a successful career in the film industry as a director, screenwriter, producer, and former actress. Thomas Mars, Romy’s father, is a member of the French indie rock band Phoenix, known for songs like Lisztomania and 1901.
