Rodney Pampling, mostly referred to as Rod Pambling, is an Australian professional golfer, born on September 23, 1969, in Redcliffe, Queensland, Australia. He currently plays on the PGA Tour Champions and was a three-time winner on the PGA Tour.
Rod turned pro in 1994 and played on the PGA Tour of Australasia, the European Tour, and the Web.com Tour. On the PGA Tour of Australasia, he won the 1999 Canon Challenge.
He shot a 71 at Carnoustie during the opening round of the Open Championship, leading the field. However, he shot an 86 in the second round to miss the cut in 1999.
Playing on the Buy.com Tour, now called the Web.com Tour, Rod did well enough in his second season to gain promotion to the full PGA Tour. Subsequently, he won the Web.com Tour’s BMW Charity Pro-Am in 2015 and regained his PGA Tour card through the Web.com Tour Finals in 2015 and 2016.
