Piers Stefan O’Meara was born in Surrey on March 30, 1965, to Vincent Eamonn O’Meara, an Irish dentist from County Offaly, and Gabrielle Georgina Sybille (née Oliver), an English woman who raised Morgan Catholic.

His younger brother, Jeremy, is two years old. A few months after his birth, the family relocated to Newick, East Sussex.

Morgan was 11 months old when his father died; his mother later married Glynne Pughe-Morgan, a Welsh pub landlord who later worked in the meat distribution business, and he took his stepfather’s surname.

Morgan began working as a freelancer for The Sun in 1988, after dropping his surname. He told Hunter Davies in December 1994 that Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie personally recruited him to work on the newspaper’s showbiz column “Bizarre,” his first high-profile position.

He didn’t like pop music, but he was good at self-promotion and eventually became the column’s main writer. “I became the Friend of the Stars, a raging egomaniac who was constantly photographed with celebrities like Madonna, Sylvester Stallone, David Bowie, Paul McCartney, and hundreds more.” “It was shameless because they had no idea who I was,” he told Davies.

Who is Piers Morgan’s father Vincent O’Meara?

Piers Morgan’s father, Eamonn Vincent O’Meara, was an Irish dentist who died in a car accident when Piers was only 11 months old.

Eamonn is not remembered by the TV personality because he was too young at the time. He is, however, very proud of his Irish ancestry, as he stated during his speech at the 2019 Irish Post Award.
