Chloe Dygert’s path to success has not been an easy one. Born on January 1, 1997, in Brownsburg, Indiana, she has overcome multiple career-threatening injuries to become an 11-time World Champion and treble Olympic medalist. Her determination and resilience have made her a cycling star to watch at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
A professional cyclist competing in both road and track disciplines, Chloe’s rise in the cycling world has been remarkable. From her first road cycling event in May 2013 to standing on the podium of the Junior Nationals just two months later, she has continued to achieve milestones in her career. In 2015, she became the Junior National Champion and Junior World Champion in both the time trial and road races.
Currently riding for UCI Women’s WorldTeam Canyon–SRAM, Chloe has represented Team USA at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympics, winning a silver and bronze medal in the team pursuit, respectively. Her journey to Tokyo was marred by a horrific crash at the World Championships in Imola, Italy, in September 2020, resulting in a leg injury that required surgery.
Despite facing setbacks, including health issues and injuries, Chloe has never given up on her passion for cycling. In June 2023, she opened up about the challenges she has faced, stating, “I’ve pretty much quit every sport that I’ve ever done because of injury. Cycling has been the one thing that I haven’t stopped.”
At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Chloe competed in both track and road events, winning a bronze medal in the time trial. With two more chances to secure gold in the road race and Team Pursuit, she continues to inspire with her determination and resilience.
Representing Team USA at the Paris 2024 Olympics is a proud moment for Chloe. Expressing her gratitude for the opportunity, she said, “It’s truly a blessing. I am truly blessed to be selected for my third Olympic Games in USA colors.”
