The current manager of Championship team Huddersfield Town is English football manager and former player Neil Warnock (born 1 December 1948).
He also works as a radio and TV commentator. Warnock has overseen sixteen clubs in his five-decade management career, from non-league to Premier League.
With eight promotions, he owns the record for most in English football. He also has the most games managed as a professional, with 1619, breaking the previous mark of 1601.
In 1967, Warnock began his professional playing career with Chesterfield after a brief stint working in a local morgue.
He later played for Rotherham United, Hartlepool United, Scunthorpe United, Aldershot, Barnsley, York City, and Crewe Alexandra, totaling 327 league appearances over the course of an 11-year playing career.
He was named Player of the Season at Hartlepool in 1972. At Crewe Alexandra, he ended his football league career in 1979 at the age of just 30.
When an injury ended his playing career in 1979 at Burton Albion, it continued when he returned to the club in 1981 and 1982 as player-manager.
He then focused on managing for the remainder of his tenure at Burton.He is with Huddersfield Town on a short-term contract.
