Tennis player Michael Mmoh was born in the United States on January 10, 1998. In 2016, he took home the USTA junior national title.

He has won four ITF Futures competitions and five ATP Challenger titles, including his first at the age of 16.

Mmoh was born in Saudi Arabia and lived there until he was 13 years old. He is of Irish and Nigerian descent. Tony Mmoh, Michael’s father, was a professional tennis player who competed for Nigeria and attained a high ranking of 105.

His mother is an Australian citizen and was born in Ireland. Michael Jordan is a basketball legend, and Mmoh’s parents named him after him.

At age 3, Mmoh started playing tennis. He receives his instruction at Florida’s IMG Academy.

After making it to the Junior French Open quarterfinals in 2015, Mmoh reached his highest point in the Boy’s Junior rankings at No. 2. His victory at the 2016 USTA 18s Boys’ National Championship earned him a wild card into the US Open main event.

Before turning 18, Mmoh won three titles on the ITF Futures tour, demonstrating his early success. In February 2016, Mmoh defeated fellow Americans Dennis Novikov and Bjorn Fratangelo to earn a spot in his first ATP-level tournament in Memphis.
