The American musician, producer, podcaster, and former television personality Mark Allan Hoppus was born on March 15, 1972. He is best known for his work as the bassist and co-lead vocalist for the rock band Blink-182, as well as for his time spent with All Time Low frontman Alex Gaskarth in the pop rock duo Simple Creatures.

Hoppus was reunited with his sister Anne Hoppus after moving to San Diego in the summer of 1992, to whom he expressed his desire to be in a band. Anne went to Rancho Bernardo High School and met a new student Tom DeLonge over the summer. Anne introduced the two in August 1992, and Hoppus and DeLonge immediately began performing music in DeLonge’s garage. Hoppus climbed to the top of a streetlight outside DeLonge’s house to impress him, but he broke both ankles on the way down, forcing him to use crutches for the next few weeks.
DeLonge recalled the 2000 meeting: “When I first met Mark, we were running around naked and doing strange things.
