Former Cleveland Cavaliers head coach, J.B. Bickerstaff, has been making headlines not only for his coaching career but also for his philanthropic efforts alongside his wife, Nikki. The couple, who tied the knot in 2011, have been active in the Cleveland community, leaving a positive impact wherever they go.
Bickerstaff, who served as the head coach for the Cavs until his recent departure following the team’s elimination from the NBA playoffs, has a long history in the basketball world. Before his time in Cleveland, he worked as an associate head coach for the Memphis Grizzlies and held assistant coaching positions with teams like the Charlotte Hornets, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Houston Rockets.
Aside from his coaching career, Bickerstaff and his wife have been praised for their charitable contributions. In 2020, they donated iPads and internet service to Cleveland-area high school seniors and distributed food and protective equipment in partnership with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank during the Covid-19 pandemic. The couple even ventured into the business world, opening their own Crumbl Cookie establishment in Northeast Ohio in 2023.
The Bickerstaffs are also dedicated parents to three children, as J.B. shared a heartfelt tweet in 2021 expressing his daughter’s fear during the US Capitol riot. Despite the challenges they face, the couple continues to make a difference in the lives of those around them, both on and off the basketball court.
As the NBA playoffs continue, the Cavs may have bid farewell to their head coach, but the legacy of J.B. Bickerstaff and Nikki Bickerstaff in the Cleveland community will undoubtedly endure.
