Jamila Atiku became famous by the virtue of her association with Atiku Abubakar, who is a Nigerian politician and businessman who served as the vice president of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007 during the presidency of Olusegun Obasanjo. Atiku ran as governor of Adamawa State in 1990, 1996, and later, in 1998, being elected before becoming Olusegun Obasanjo‘s running mate during the 1999 presidential election and being re-elected in 2003.

He contested the Nigeria presidential election five times but unsuccessfully lost.

Who is Jamila Atiku-Abubakar?

Jennifer Atiku-Abubakar is believed to be in her 50s. Initially, Jennifer Iwenjora was her maiden name until her marriage to the former vice-president of Nigeria. She is an Igbo woman and a Nigerian citizen.

Jennifer was a reporter with the popular Nigeria Television Authority (NTA). According to a new DailyTimes report, Jenny as she is usually called is a legal practitioner in private practice. She was the fourth wife of the famous Politician until they recently divorced.

Why did Jamila Atiku-Abubakar divorce Atiku Abubakar?

Jennifer explained in an interview that “the core reason for the divorce was disagreement over my continued stay in the United Kingdom” among other “long-standing issues”.

She also alleged that Atiku has demanded to take back an asset previously given to her, adding that the property in Dubai is a subject of litigation.

She also added, “During the initial mediation discussion, Excellency denied that he gifted the house (matrimonial home in Asokoro) even after I showed him the document with the signatures of his aide, his Excellency asked me to give him the deed of gift.

“When I asked him, where will I and the kids stay when we come to Nigeria?’, he told me that since I am the one that asked for a divorce, I should find a place to stay, and subsequently, I moved out.”

Atiku is yet to make any public statement on the issue as of the time of filing this report.
