A tragic incident has torn apart a family as a brother was arrested in connection to his sister’s homicide.
Jack Joseph Ball was taken into custody after body parts were found on a neighbor’s doorstep, leading to the discovery of the murder of his sister, Bethany Israel.
Bethany Israel, a 30-year-old pregnant woman, was found dead at her home, with her cause of death listed as complex homicidal violence. Her brother, Jack Joseph Ball, has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder in connection to her death and the death of her unborn child.
The Dakota County District Attorney’s Office has described the allegations in the case as “deeply disturbing and horrific”, highlighting the gruesome nature of the crime. The police were alerted by family members who were concerned when Bethany did not return home after a dinner with her brother.
After discovering the gruesome scene at the residence, where blood and dismembered body parts were found, the police located Jack Joseph Ball in a neighboring backyard. He had self-inflicted injuries on his neck and was taken into custody before being transported to a local hospital.
Currently, Ball is expected to be transferred to the Dakota County Jail in Hastings, Minnesota once he is medically cleared. His bail has been set at $2 million without conditions and $1 million with conditions.
