Day’s mother, Jeanne Bass Day, brought him up in Poplarville, Mississippi, after his birth in Mobile, Alabama. Glen was around two years old when Jeanne became a widow at the age of 28. Glen’s main masculine role model as a young boy was his grandpa, Glyndol Bass.
