Jonathan Tate Reeves (born June 5, 1974) is an American politician who has been the 65th governor of Mississippi since 2020. Reeves, a Republican, served as Mississippi’s 32nd lieutenant governor from 2012 to 2020 and as the state treasurer from 2004 to 2012.
Early childhood and education

A native of Rankin County, Mississippi, Reeves is the eldest son of Terry Reeves and Dianne Peeples. In 1975, Reeves’ father launched a multimillion-dollar heating and air conditioning company.

Reeves attended Florence High School. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Millsaps College in Jackson. He played college basketball for two years before hurting his shoulder.

Elee Reeves (Williams) is Reeves’ wife, and they have three daughters. Reeves and his family are members of Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church.

Elee Williams Reeves, Mississippi’s First Lady, grew up in Tylertown, where her parents emphasized the value of education and giving back to the community.

She attended Millsaps College in Jackson after graduating from McComb High School and graduated with honors. Elee also has a Master of Business Administration degree from Millsaps College.

Elee began her career in 2001 as an investment advisor with Coker & Palmer, where she helps others achieve their financial goals. She is a member of the Mississippi Chartered Financial Analyst Society and the Chartered Financial Institute.
