English singer and musician Christine Anne McVie lived from 12 July 1943 until 30 November 2022. She joined Fleetwood Mac in 1970, and became best known as the band’s pianist and singer. She also recorded three albums on her own. Her songs mostly dealt with love and relationships. According to Steve Leggett of AllMusic, she was “unabashedly easy-on-the-ears singer/songwriter, and the key mover behind some of Fleetwood Mac’s biggest songs.”
Eight of the songs she wrote or co-wrote for Fleetwood Mac’s 1988 Greatest Hits album were her original compositions, including “Don’t Stop,” “Everywhere,” and “Little Lies.”
Who is Christine McVie’s first husband John McVie?
John Graham McVie is a British bass guitarist who was born on November 26, 1945. He is well recognized for his time spent as a member of Fleetwood Mac since 1967 and John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers from 1964 to 1967. The band’s name was created using his last name and Mick Fleetwood’s last name. He replaced temporary bassist Bob Brunning shortly after Fleetwood Mac was founded in 1967 by guitarist Peter Green.
Peter Green served as best man when McVie and John McVie got married in 1968. As opposed to taking a honeymoon, they celebrated at a hotel in Birmingham with Joe Cocker, who just so happened to be a guest there, before splitting up with their respective bands. In spite of their 1976 divorce, the couple kept their friendship and business relationship.
