Silver began dating Chris Cornell, the lead vocalist of Soundgarden, a band Silver began managing a year later, in 1985, and they married in 1990.

Cornell penned “Moonchild” for Silver off his debut solo album Euphoria Morning. Lillian Jean, the couple’s first and only child, was born in June 2000. In 2004, the couple divorced.

Silver began his career as a music manager in 1983. The bands The U-Men and First Thought were her first clients. Silver met Soundgarden, whose lead vocalist was her then-boyfriend Chris Cornell, in 1985 and began managing the band the following year.

Silver was also in charge of Screaming Trees at the time. “I became a manager because I wanted to assist musicians to accomplish their aspirations”.

Silver was the manager of a John Fluevog shoe store in Seattle at the same time she was managing Rock bands.

Years later, the store would become famous for selling the Dr. Martens boots used by various Seattle grunge bands. Kevin Martin, the lead vocalist of Candlebox, was one of Silver’s coworkers at the time.
