Robert Seger is an American singer, songwriter, and musician who was born on May 6, 1945. In the 1960s, he worked as a locally popular musician in the Detroit area under the names Bob Seger and the Last Heard and The Bob Seger System. In 1968, he achieved fame with his debut album, Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man, which featured his first big-time national hit of the same name. He stopped using the name “System” in his records at the beginning of the 1970s and kept working with different bands to achieve more popularity. He formed the Silver Bullet Band in 1973 with a group of musicians from the Detroit area, and it was with this group that he achieved his greatest level of popularity on a national scale with the album Live Bullet (1976), which they had recorded live in 1975.
