Marley and his wife Rita, whom he wed in Kingston, Jamaica, in 1966, have four children together.
Additionally, he acknowledged five other children from various women and adopted two of her prior partner’s children.
Over the years, numerous other people have asserted their claim to be his offspring, but Marley has only ever recognized 11 as his own. At their father’s request after his passing, four of the Marley siblings even started the reggae band Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers. The ensemble received seven Grammy nominations, winning three of them.
